Gasol returns in grand fashion as Lakers pound Bulls

| It didn't take Pau Gasol very long to adjust to the speed of the game in his season debut Thursday. |
| He ran the floor smoothly, shaking off any questions of his lingering right hamstring injury. His jumpshot and left-handed hookshot were just as deft as last season. He even got knocked down to the floor twice, but bounced back up both times. |
| Good news for the Lakers the rest of the way as they went on to trounce the Bulls 108-93 behind Gasol's game-high 24 points and 13 rebounds, including seven on the offensive glass. |
| "I couldn't be happier," Gasol said. "I wasn't really expecting to be as effective as I was tonight. I just played and had fun." |
| The Lakers (9-3) had a balanced attack with six players scoring in double figures. |
